Magnetic Fields Revealed Materials

Gives the students an opportunity to "see" the entire magnetic field, all at one time, using iron filings. The iron filings are influenced by the magnetic lines of force and align with them in the magnetic field. Sprinkle the filings, like salt, over the surface of a plastic sheet. When you gently tap the sheet, the filings line up and reveal the magnetic field.
