Product Description
Kid favorite. A small pile of potassium permanganate, about the size of a poker chip, is placed in the center of an inverted tart pan and shaped to look like a mini volcano. One quarter of an ounce of glycerine is poured into the center of the potassium permanganate. After about 15-20 seconds, the pile of chemicals starts to smoke and then bursts into flames, 6-8 inches high. Excellent example of a chemical reaction with change of state, light production, odor and color changes, and lots of heat released. Grades 5-8
