Iodine Solution

An element in the periodic table, iodine is a brown liquid that produces a yellowish stain when used as a disinfectant to kill bacteria when uou scrape your knee.  When it comes in contact with foods that contain starch, like potato slices, white bread, crackers or yams, it immediately turns black.
