Coffee Cup Catastrophe Materials

An opportunity to explore the relationship between solvents and solutes by using styrofoam cups. The kids will be entertained by the initial reaction between a coffee cup and acetone, and then come to understand the recycling and resource implications of using different kinds of materials.

Demo Pack includes:  5" tart pan, 9 oz styrofoam cup, 1 oz acetone
