CO2 Exchange PDF

This lab introduces the carbon dioxide-oxygen cycle from the perspective of the animal. The kids will blow into a bag of bromothymol blue, an acid base indicator, to demonstrate the presence of carbon dioxide as a by-product. The carbon dioxide changes the solution from blue to green to yellow.  Add sodium hydroxide to the mix, and watch the solution change back from yellow to green to blue.  Grades 5-8
