Product Description
An opportunity to explore mixtures vs. compounds, and physical vs. chemical changes. Cornstarch is thyxophyllic, meaning that it loves pressure. Add a small amount of water to a pile of cornstarch, work the water in, and form a cornstarch ball. As long as you keep pressure on the ball, it looks and behaves like a solid. As soon as you take the pressure off, it turns into a runny, gooey mess. Grades 4-8
