Thunder Drum

This is a colorful cardboard tube, 8” long and 3” in diameter. One end is open and the other end has been covered with a drum-quality head. A 16” long, skinny, spring has been attached to the center of that drum head and hangs loosely from the bottom of the assembly. When you grab the thunder drum in the middle of the tube and shake it, the string vibrates, which causes the drum head to vibrate, which is amplified by the tube. The result is a sound that resembles thunder.
