Table Top Salt Flats Materials

This lab shows how halite is formed in enclosed basins that lose all of their incoming water through evaporation. The kids will create an evaporative salt deposit using sodium chloride by mixing a solution with water and recording the evaporative process.

Demo Pack includes: 5" tart pan, 9-oz plastic cup, craft stick, 7/8-oz vial sodium chloride, hand lens, halite sample.
