Sediment to Slate to Schist Materials

The students use a sheet of aluminum foil to replicate the sequence that foliated metamorphic rocks go through as the pressure and heat they are exposed to increase. The will be able to describe the sequence of rocks, the characteristics that they exhibit as the pressure and heat increase, and the qualities of each rock.
