Mica, Muscovite

Collected in the Black Hills of South Dakota, these beautiful mica specimens are dark gray at first glance but are actually clear. Excellent example to teach cleavage and also great tie in to the pioneer settlers who used sheets of mica as make shift window panes before they had access to affordable glass.
