Enzyme Factory Materials

Allows the students to study the start of the digestive process and the beginning of the gastrointestinal tract. They will understand by experiencing the decomposition of starch molecules into sugar that food immediately begins to be broken down by the body and assimilated into the blood stream where it can be used by the cells. They will also learn to use the reaction of iodine with starch as an identifying test for that food product.
