Crinoid Stems

These fossils are from the high desert of Morocco but are common the world over, particularly here in the US. Crinoids are called sea lilies. The stem is the bottom part of the animal that would correlate to the stem of a flower. These animals lived in the shallow, tidal portion of ancient seas and were very abundant.
