Carbon Dioxide Cannon Materials

This lab explores the characteristics of a chemical change and the three states of matter. Baking soda and vinegar are packed into a test tube and shaken vigorously. The resulting carbon dioxide fills the tube and forces the stopper into the air. Quick and dramatic demonstration with lots of guaranteed ooh aahs.

Taught in fourth year Charms class, this charm is capable of breaking down locked doors. We are going to go old school on this one and you will make a hand held cannon and shoot rubber stoppers as you bombard your students with this idea.
