Grow Your Own Cave Popcorn Materials

Dark gray pieces of dolomite are placed in an empty pie tin. The rock is covered with vinegar and allowed to stand for one week. the vinegar is absorbed by the rock and reacts with the minerals inside, producing large, popcorn-shaped aragonite crystals.
